Transfer & Compression Moulding

Image of Transfer & Compression Moulding

Transfer Moulding is having a "pot an plunger" to push uncured rubber into the mould cavity using hydraulic pressure which holds the mould closed while the rubber cures.  The pot and plunger are separated and the transfer mould is opened and the product can be removed.  The heat and pressures during the process form a vulcanised bond between the cable and the moulding compound.  Transfer moulding uses a closed mould, so smaller tolerances and more intricate parts can be achieved.

Contact Us

CDG's mould tools are designed and manufactured in our fully equipped CNC tool room allowing us to work to client designs or to work with the client to create a tailored solution.  Our in house CNC tool room also enables us to offer solutions for small & large volume clients.

Moulding Compounds

Our press moulding compounds suit a variety of gentle or harsh environments

  • EPDM - Low temperature flexibility, can withstand high voltage
  • Natural Rubber - High tensile strength, excellent compression set resistance, good resilience and abrasion properties
  • Neoprene - High tensile strength, excellent ozone and weathering resistance, good resistance to oils
  • Silicone - Excellent resistance to high and low temperatures
